June 7th

Well, free babysitters, the day has come and gone. I was supposed to receive my rug June 7th and here were are, on June 8th and I am rugless. I called the company. It has been delayed... again...

Am I mad?

No.

Why?

Because the customer service representative did her job and said "I'm so sorry, I know you've been through a lot with this rug but the vendor keeps changing the date on us."

And mostly because I didn't realize I was actually supposed to receive it June 7th, I thought June 7th was the day it shipped and that I'd get it around the 17th. Oh and also because it is supposed to be here JUNE 10TH. Which is kinda a week early!!!! And it's also Friday!!! Unless it changes... and it probably will...

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times- Suck it, Eve Dobbs.

Childhood Games

Ok, so you remember when everyone on Facebook wrote a note that was 20 things about themselves? Well, I stumbled upon mine and reread it which is how I got here. My sister, brother and I used to play the weirdest games when we were little. And it never really dawned on me that they were weird... until now.

Game 1
Walk on the Butts
This game involved one of us laying on the ground while the others took turns stepping on that person's butt and then walking around in a circle and repeating the process. It was awesome. Some of my favorite times as a child were when we played Walk on the Butts.

Game 2
Naked People Town
My sister and I would take baths together undress our wish world kids and play with them in the tub. Everyone involved was naked hence the name. This is not to be confused with Clothed People Town.

Game 3
Ok I can't think of a third game, and honestly, Naked People Town isn't that weird. It's weird that we named it that, I guess but the act itself of playing with Wish World Kids in the tub... not weird. But Walk on the Butts? I crack up every time I think of how much fun we had playing that. Can you imagine if you and 2 of your friends got together, 1 of you laid on the floor while the other walked on your butt??? How on Earth did we come up with that and why on Earth was it fun? Kid's imaginations are crazy... I can't wait to see what Beck comes up with.

Did y'all have any crazy games? To all Jarrett/Cates out there... Seth says the only games he played were basketball and racing. When I asked about games where he had to use his imagination he said "Ghost runner on third." Hmm... if that's it let's hope Beck got my imagination genes. Anyway surely Seth played a dumb game! What was it???

Outdoorsman

Beck has taken up residence at the front door. He loooooves going outside! Any time the door's open he crawls as fast as he can to try to escape. Don't let the sweet face fool you.

He is usually screaming at the top of his lungs and banging on the door when in this neck of the woods.

Don't come assist him fast enough? He's coming after you. You'll ask for a kiss and he'll bite you instead. With his 2 teeth. That's right 2, the .5 tooth I mentioned in an earlier post is not there anymore...

So glad I didn't proclaim in on Facebook.

It's Not Delivery, It's BOB Revolution

This, my free babysitters, is BOB Revolution.

It is the best stroller in all the land. I can't believe how much easier it is to push than my regular stroller. In fact, it doesn't roll it glides. It's a jogging stroller and although I haven't truly jogged with it yet I did get extra hungry on the way back from Papa Johns and picked up my pace a time or two. I'v never used another jogging stroller but I can't imagine one being better than this. It's like it just floats- it's so light!!! On another note, I got it out of the trunk of my sports car one handed while holding Beck and unfolded it to the standing position. It's virtually impossible to get my travel system stroller unfolded let alone unfolded with one hand! It even has better handling skills than my travel system stroller- this baby can turn the tighest of corners, corners I would never dream of attempting otherwise...

It is more expensive than a standard stroller or a standard jogging stroller. HOWEVER, if you are planning on buying a stroller and a jogging stroller, why not just buy one BOB? The prices end up being pretty comparable, you can buy an attachment where your infant car seat will fit into BOB just as securely as a travel system and think of all the space you save by only having 1 stroller!

So if you are expecting, know someone who is (and really, really like them) or just in the market for a new ride. I can not recommend BOB more. You will not be disappointed!!

10 Months

Beck is 10 months old today.

He is officially walking. He usually takes about 3 or 4 steps and then falls, gets back up again, 3 or 4 more steps and so on. But he's taken up to 9 at a time. He gets much better every day.

I think he's said his first word.... in fact, I proclaimed it on Facebook so I can't go back now. You tell me. When at my parent's house he would look at their dogs and say "doh, doh." He never says that, he always says "dadadadada" but never "doh." Anyway I thought that was interesting but I also thought it may just be a coincidence. THEN, one day, we pulled into our driveway and there was a dog behind the car. Beck got so excited, he was kicking his legs and screaming "DOH, DOH!" So that means, first word is dog right? Well that's what I thought, but he hasn't said it since and he's seen dogs many times. I don't know what to think so I'm just gonna say he said his first word. After all, it is Facebook official.

He looooves playing with toilet paper and the toilet. I've never seen a child crawl so fast as when the bathroom door gets left open. We lost a paci to the porcelain throne a couple days ago.

He still loves the bath tub and also the pool. I don't know if I've shared this secret on here before but I've always feared he would poop in the tub. Well, it finally happened. I just drained the tub and sent it full of peas and carrots down the drain. I hope that's ok. "Well actually, Mr Plumber, my drain is clogged because I rinsed a big dump down it." I'm not really sure what else you're supposed to do about a tub dump. I was definitely not gonna strain it out. EW.

He has 2.5 teeth! His bottom 2 are fully in and he has a top one that's just broken the skin. So we'll be at 3 shortly. Teething has not really been an issue for us, which has been awesome.

ABOUT THE EARS. We went to an ENT Friday and we've decided since Beck is getting pulled from daycare in 2 weeks we're gonna wait it out and see if getting out of daycare will stop the ear infections. I hope so!!! As much as I don't want Beck to have surgery I also don't want to pay a $500 deductible because well, I just bought a BOB and now I'm broke... More about BOB later.
