4 Month Check Up

Beck had his 4 month check up yesterday at our NEW pediatrician. I was so excited, I HATED our old one. Anyway... apparently our scale is not accurate and we needed to add on a bit to Beck's weight. He weighs 15 lbs 5 ozs (56 pecentile), has a 66 percentile head circumference (who cares) and is 25 inches long which is the 76% percentile. Looks like Seth's genes are starting to take effect...

He also STEAM ROLLLED!!! I couldn't believe it. He was laying on his back, I was talking to the doctor and BOOM, flipped to his stomach. Our doctor was even impressed- he said it was early to be rolling over. He said "early," I heard "superior athletic ability." Thank God because we are really banking on him going straight to the pros. For the rest of the appointment, he was obsessed with looking at that thing the doctor looks at your throat and ears with. He loved it. I guess that means he's gonna be a doctor if he's not a professional athlete.

The doctor also told me we can start giving him cereal! I was really excited about this, I wanted to ask if I could, but I've always read your supposed to wait until 6 months so I didn't want to sound pushy. He said there's new research that shows you can start feeding solids at 4 months. We're gonna try it out tonight.... pictures to come.

Besides the immunizations (Beck didn't struggle or cry nearly as much this time), it was a great trip!

Then we went to KinderCare.

Remember how Beck won Star of the Month? That was incorrect. He was ASSIGNED Star of the Month. When I got there they had a note for me that said "Please bring in a family photo." Now, I read it as "Please ATLEAST bring in a familiy photo since you still haven't brought your son's Star of the Month poster in." Umm, sorry KinderCare, I don't know if you've realized or not but I have a baby. I do not have all the time in the world to go print pictures, get poster board and construction paper and make a dumb poster! And by the way, I have gotten all my supplies together, I just need to make it. And no, I won't bring in a family photo, I'll bring in a poster boad full of pictures like we discussed earlier, especially this one.

And then I got to thinking... what if they just want a family photo to make me a Christmas ornament or something and are not repeatedly asking for my poster. Oops. Ok, I'll bring in my poster tomorrow AND a family photo. If you accept both, I'm very sorry. If you do not and were just passive aggressively asking for my infants poster than please see the picture above.

Star of the Month

Of the many accolades Beck has already won (Cutest Baby Alive, Smartest Baby Alive, Baby with the Cutest Mom Alive), we are most proud of his latest accomplishment:

Star of the Month!

KinderCare awarded him Star of the Month for the month of December. How did he get this award at the ripe young age of 4 months? Why, by being next in the rotation. As Star of the Month, Beck gets to bring a poster board with pictures on it and it hangs up in the infant room for the month. It's a good opportunity for Beck to show his friends what his home life is like and it's an even better opportunity for me to show other parents how much more creative I am than them.

(4 months since his) Birthday Boy!!

When Beck was not even 1 month old I started getting sad about how quickly the time was going by, how fast he was growing up and how much he was changing. I was losing my little beetle bug that would curl up on my chest and snuggle all day. There are some little things I miss about my 1 week old boy but more than that I love seeing the stages Beck grows into each month. He is more and more fun each week. I keep saying "he is in such a cute phase right now," each phase topping the next. At 4 months, Beck is in his cutest phase yet!

Beck now weighs 14 lbs 13 0zs and is eating 5 ounces every 2 hours. YEAH tell me about it. What happened to eating more so he could go for longer periods of time without eating? And no, he won't take 6 ozs and last a little longer. I really don't want to feed him solid food until 6 months but I must admit now I'm questioning cereal...

Beck had his first real laugh and we were so lucky to catch it on camera.

He is progressing at tummy time. He hates it and like every good mother who's children are miserable to be around, I don't make him do it (I am working on this). This video doesn't really do him justice though, he's better than it lets on.

Now for rolling over, Beck is pretty good at doing tummy time, leaning a little to one side or another and then letting his fat head and gravity do the rest... umm is that rolling over? If so, what a dumb milestone. We'll talk when he does his first STEAMROLLERRRR..... STEAMROLLERRRR...... STEAMROLLERRRRR. Were the Weber kids the only ones who rolled on top of each other yelling "Steamroller!!!!"?

He's in 3 months clothes but their a little tight, he also wears 6 months clothes but their pretty big.

He also had his very first Thanksgiving! We went to Henderson to visit Seth's family where Beck enjoyed watching TV with his cousin, Tyler,

lounging around with Aunt Mary

meeting Uncle Brad,

and of course, cuddling with his momma.

And of course, what's a post with no poop talk. When I picked up Beck today from KinderCare, on his 4 month birthday, his teacher told me he had such a huge diaper explosion it shot up to his neck. She hadn't seen anything like it. She also said it was such an explosion that she would have handed him over to his mother to clean it up. Um, for $212 a week, not only can you clean my son's explosions but mine too.

Photo Shoot Failures

In case you haven't realized, I am not a good blogger. It's hard enough finding the time to write, not to mention the time it takes to get some good pictures. Here's a try at a good mother-son pic since I'm usually the one behind the camera.
